One Flushing, a new mixed-use residential and commercial building in Downtown Flushing, is hosting a job fair for several positions.

On Friday, January 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Asian Americans for Equality and Stanton-Norfolk Property Management are looking for a front desk concierge, porters and a maintenance repair person for the property.

The job fair will be at 35-45 Union Street, just across from Flushing High School.

Full-time and part-time positions are available. The jobs provide health benefits with paid vacation, holidays, sick days and personal days. Bilingual skills in Chinese, Korean or Spanish are a plus.

Applicants should arrive at the job fair with a resume and be prepared for initial interviews.

The first 4DX movie theater in Queens will soon come to Flushing.

Tangram, a mixed-use, 1.2 million-square-foot development, announced that Regal will occupy a 34,000 square foot multiplex with seven cinemas.

What is 4DX, you ask? It combines state-of-the-art viewing with theme-park-like effects. In essence, you can feel the motions through vibrations and environmental factors like wind and rain.

The lease is for 20 years, Tangram says.

In addition to the theater, the development will have 320 luxury condos, 48 office condos, a four-star lifestyle hotel and other retail including a food hall, a beer garden and high-fashion shopping.

Construction is still ongoing at the site, located at 37th Avenue/Prince Street/39th Avenue/College Point Boulevard.

Here’s your chance to apply for a New York City “Love your Local” grant to help your small business.

Twenty mom and pop shops across the five boroughs will secure grants of $90,000 each.

The money can be used to improve operations, recruit and train employees, update technology or improve financial management.

The application is due on January 22.

The grants are available to long term, non-franchised businesses.

They are collecting donations of cars, candy (sugar-free is a plus), playing cards, puzzles, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, new clothing items, robes, slippers and socks for the hospitalized and disabled veterans at the New York State Veterans Home at St. Albans and the St. Albans VA Community Living Center.

The deadline for donations is Monday, February 11.

Users can now connect freely to “QBPL_WIRELESS.”

According to Queens Library, it removed the sign-in requirement to “fulfill its mission of providing easy access to information and improve the user experience, while also working to close the digital divide.”

In Fiscal Year 2018, more than 3 million people used the Queens Library’s Internet service, the library reported.

Northeast Queens could soon receive a new mode of transport if this idea follows through.

Councilman Paul Vallone announced that he has received word that EDC will study the possibility of expanding NYC Ferry service to Citi Field Marina and Fort Totten.

The two possible spots were among 3,000 responses to a public survey about potential new locations.

The feasibility study will examine factors like water depths, population density, existing access to transit and travel time comparisons.

In 2014, Vallone, along with Peter Koo and former Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras-Copeland, asked EDC to conduct a pilot program for a ferry between Manhattan and Citi Field and Fort Totten.

Vallone has also previously suggested a ferry to Willets Point.
