In the spirit of the holiday season, consider donating to the 8th Annual Holiday Gift Drive, hosted by Assemblyman Ed Braunstein.
His office is collecting gifts for hospitalized veterans and toys for needy and hospitalized children.
For the vets, you can donate items such as candy, pajamas, robes, slippers, socks, sweaters, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, playing cards and puzzles.
All gifts will be given to the men and women at St. Albans VA Community Living Center and the Veterans’ Home at St. Albans.
For the children, consider giving unwrapped new toys.
All gifts should be delivered by Monday, December 17 to Braunstein’s office at 213-33 39th Avenue, the offices of Dr. William M. Duke at 35-01 202nd Street, or Community Board 11 at 46-21 Little Neck Parkway.
